Its platform has processed over €3m in transactions from more than 30,000 users and is integrated via partnerships with LastMinute.com, Uvet Travel Network and FantaCalcio-online.it. The company also powers an e-wallet platform based on its wedding-list management for over 1,000 travel agencies. Growish was co-founded in 2014 by Claudio Cubito (CEO), Domingo Sarmiento Lupo (CTO) and Digital Magics; the team includes developers and marketing and partnerships staff. The company plans to use new funds to continue growing in Italy, to launch abroad and to expand its offering into travel, retail, e-commerce, banking, the sharing economy, community and donation sectors. Growish is a Milan-based startup that provides a collective payment platform for family, friends and colleagues to raise money and acquire gifts online. Users can create campaigns, share them via email and social networks, and either transfer collected amounts to a bank account or purchase giftcards/giftboxes from partner brands including Alitalia, Amazon, Zalando, Decathlon and others. The company was founded by CEO Claudio Cubito and CTO Domingo Sarmiento Lupo, who increased their personal investment in this round. Growish is incubated within Digital Magics (Borsa Italiana: DM), which will own a 43% stake following the close of the round. The startup raised €500K in funding from angel backers and plans to use the proceeds to expand marketing, grow in Italy through partnerships and develop its mobile app. The company is hiring two developers and a digital marketing specialist to support product and growth efforts.
