Growth Capital Ventures (GCV) is a London-based developer and operator of specialist online investment and capital crowdfunding platforms that connect entrepreneurs and earlier-stage businesses to investors. Led by CEO Norman Peterson and COO Craig Peterson, GCV launched its first crowdfunding platform, GrowthFunders, in 2014. In 2016 GCV received a £1.1m investment from Maven Capital Partners, provided through Maven's managed Venture Capital Trusts. The funding will enable GCV to develop a new peer-to-peer lending (P2P) platform and tap into the UK online alternative finance market, which raised £3.2 billion in 2015. Maven’s backing will also support further development of GCV’s investment platforms and increase deal flow for its expanding investor base, enabling syndication between institutional, professional and retail investors. Target sectors for the platforms include high-growth SMEs, real estate, technology and clean energy.
