Grupo ilao (operating as Chariot & Castle Seguros) is a retail property and casualty insurance brokerage serving more than 20,000 clients across seven cities in Colombia. The company reports $150 million in annual premiums and more than 500 employees. Over the past two years it completed acquisitions of 21 insurance brokerages across seven cities, creating one of the top five insurance brokerages in Colombia. Grupo ilao has raised over $30 million in debt and equity to date to fund its consolidation strategy. Leadership includes CEO Mauricio Perez and President Mauricio Garcia, the latter a former president of Liberty Seguros. The company says it plans further regional expansion and additional acquisitions as part of its growth plan.
