Gruzobzor offers a cloud-based service for the transportation industry that enables carriers, shippers and freight forwarders to share electronic documents and communicate in real time. The platform includes document-sharing and process tools the company says can reduce the number of empty trucks on the road, producing cost benefits. Additional features include distance calculators and weather forecasts. Gruzobzor reports over 36,000 companies and individuals using the service, both free and paying, with most customers in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe. It monetizes via a freemium model: posting freight and trucks is free, while paying customers receive additional workflow tools. CEO and co-founder Zagir Rashitov says the company aims to move industry workflows to the cloud and challenge legacy players; the startup recently raised $1M from investors.
