GSR is a crypto capital markets and liquidity provider founded in 2013 by former Goldman Sachs traders. The firm acts as a market maker and liquidity partner and says it works with over 300 liquidity partners and has traded more than $1 trillion since inception. GSR has been expanding its tokenization services and in March announced a $57 million acquisition of Autonomous and Architech to grow that business. The company accepted its first external investment—about $150 million from SC Ventures—at a valuation above $1 billion. GSR and its new investor plan to collaborate on building regulated, scalable market infrastructure to link traditional finance and digital assets and to broaden institutional access to tokenization. This investment coincides with Standard Chartered’s wider expansion into digital asset custody and institutional spot trading services.
