Overview

iWikiPhone is a Rome-based social network that helps iPhone users discover, share and discuss iPhone apps. The platform surfaces recommendations from friends and highlights which apps friends are actually using to improve discovery. It plans to crowdsource ideas for new iPhone apps from its community, paying idea owners $500 plus a share of revenue from app sales. iWikiPhone intends to monetize by selling apps in the iPhone App Store and sharing revenue with idea owners. The company was founded in June by Luca Di Cesare, formerly CTO of dooyoo.com and a DoubleClick consultant at Google. iWikiPhone has closed a €250k funding round from private investors and Egolab, which contributed €100k in cash and services for 20% equity.
