HAI ROBOTICS

No. 99, Gushu 2nd Road, Nanchang Community, Xixiang Subdistrict, Baoan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, 518120, China

Overview

Hai Robotics builds autonomous case-handling (ACR) systems that automate tote and carton storage, retrieval and transport in warehouses using robotics and AI. The company offers multiple ACR models (including the HAIPICK A42) capable of shelving up to 5–7 meters and carrying multiple loads, and it holds over 400 global patents in robot control and warehouse management. Hai has run more than 200 projects globally with about 2,000 ACR robots deployed and serves customers in more than 30 countries, including a recent deployment at Australia’s Booktopia. It maintains five overseas subsidiaries in Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Singapore, the U.S. and the Netherlands and has partnerships with logistics firms such as LG CNS and MUJIN. The company plans to expand its overseas market presence and localize services while investing in technological upgrades, talent recruitment and supply-chain support. Financially, Hai Robotics recently disclosed a $200M equity raise to support those plans and continued product development. Hai Robotics produces the Haipick shelving system, a tall, narrow logistics robot capable of moving up to eight boxes at once. The company says Haipick can improve warehouse operating efficiency by up to 4x. The pandemic-driven surge in e-commerce is presented in the article as a major market opportunity driving demand for its systems. Hai completed a "nearly" $15 million Series B+ that adds to a Series B it announced late last year. The funding appears intended to support scaling deployments and meet increased demand for warehouse automation. The article identifies Hai Robotics as one of several Chinese logistics-robotics manufacturers worth following.
