Haiku Deck is a mobile-native, iPad-based presentation tool that helps non-designers create attractive presentations quickly using only their device. The app includes features such as graph and list-making tools and built-in sharing for web distribution. The startup achieved roughly 500,000 downloads on the App Store within its first eight months. Haiku Deck remains free while working on premium features to begin generating revenue, but its current focus is user growth. CEO Adam Tratt said the $3M Series A will fund product development and additional hiring to expand the user base. The company is seeing adoption beyond education among business users, salespeople, marketers, social media users and bloggers.
