Overview
Haltian builds an end-to-end IoT offering that combines cloud-connected sensors, cellular gateways, device management dashboards and software, plus AI algorithms to track occupancy, CO2, humidity, light usage, leaks and dispenser levels. The company began as an engineering services provider and developed its own IoT products thereafter; its founding team includes former Nokia colleagues. Haltian says data is anonymized and stored in a private cloud. Around 75% of revenue comes from device sales, and the company reported nearly 50% annual growth over the past three years, reaching revenues of about €20 million last year. The business has expanded internationally, opening offices in California and Holland, and plans further growth in Central Europe and North America. Haltian employs about 145 people and intends to grow headcount to roughly 170 by year-end. Haltian develops a complete IoT platform and devices under the Thingsee brand, offering data-collection solutions that enable customers to launch and run new commercial IoT solutions into new verticals. The company provides product development and IoT services and is led by CEO and co-founder Pasi Leipälä. Founded in 2012 and based in Oulu, Finland, Haltian employs more than 70 IoT and product-making experts. The company closed a $5M funding round to support its growth. It intends to use the funds to become a leading solution provider in selected enterprise IoT markets.
