Hammerkit offers a cloud-based web development toolkit and a Cloudstore aimed at making it faster and easier to build professional-grade websites and social media applications for the PR and marketing industry. The company was established in 2007 in Helsinki and opened an office at Liverpool Science Park, UK, in October 2010. Led by CEO Mark Sorsa-Leslie, Hammerkit has positioned the Cloudstore as a core product for expansion into the UK market. The company raised external funding to support that expansion and has also received support from Tekes, the Finnish funding agency for technology and innovation. Hammerkit plans to use the new capital to establish its Cloudstore business in the UK and scale operations in Liverpool. Management expects to create 12 new jobs in Liverpool within a year and a further 40–50 positions in three to four years.
