The platform uses AI to auto-generate transaction structures, line items, payment schedules, and sub-milestones, and it provides complementary mediation and independent assessments for disputes. Handshake aims to replace manual spreadsheet-based back-office processes used by many interior design firms and to give homeowners protection from pre-payment risk while improving cash flow for providers. The company has onboarded more than 40 interior design companies and signed partnerships with renovation marketplaces Renonation and Network SG to drive adoption. Handshake was founded in September 2025 by Christopher Chan and Lee Jun Xian and operates payment flows on MAS-regulated infrastructure with funds held at DBS. Its immediate focus is renovating Singapore's renovation and interior design market with plans to expand to other high-trust service industries.
