Hangar Technology builds a software platform that automates aerial data acquisition and analysis, enabling enterprises to procure maps, photos, videos and analytics from drones without piloting them or processing large datasets. The platform automates mission design, flight control and data analysis to scale drone operations without needing expert pilots or operations managers. Hangar has been testing an early version in a private beta with commercial drone pilots and construction and real estate businesses in Austin. The co-founders include Colin Guinn (former CEO/founder of DJI North America and former CRO of 3D Robotics) and Jeff DeCoux (serial enterprise tech founder), bringing deep drone and enterprise software experience. The company employs 30 full-time staff and—despite being founded this year—is already revenue- and profit-generating. Hangar plans to use its new funding for hiring, strategic acquisitions, and research and product development.
