Hansoft, founded in 2005 and headquartered in Sweden with a small San Francisco office, builds tools to help teams collaborate and manage product and service development using Agile methods. Its desktop/server software runs on Mac, Windows and multiple Linux distributions and is aimed at scaling Agile to large, complex programs (typically 5–10 scrum teams per program). Typical customers buy around 1,000 seats; the product is free for teams of up to nine users. Historically self-funded, Hansoft serves customers across telecom, games, electronics, aerospace, space and defence, and also counts startups and smaller teams among its users. The company has about 35 employees in Sweden and two in San Francisco; with the new funding it plans to expand the San Francisco office, hire a Chief Growth Officer, keep development in Sweden and focus sales in the U.S. office.
