Happify
51 E 12th St, New York, NY, 10003, United States
Overview
Happify provides programs, activities and exercises via an online platform and app based on decades of scientific research in positive psychology, CBT and mindfulness. The company offers content created by experts and has built close to 60 on-demand programs addressing resilience, mindfulness, depression, anxiety, chronic pain and mood disorders. Happify recently launched an enterprise-focused business, Happify Health, to expand its digital behavior-intervention platform to large healthcare providers and employers. The company intends to use new funding to hire staff focused on the enterprise market and to expand Happify Health. Leadership includes President Ofer Leidner and CEO Tomer Ben-Kiki. The product mix targets both consumer users and enterprise clients through its platform and mobile app. Happify offers a freemium web service made of guided "tracks"—short, game-like activities based on research from UPenn, Harvard and Stanford—intended to teach emotional skills and improve happiness. The site contains 20 four-part tracks (10 free) and a paid Happify Plus membership; pricing is $14.95/month, $6.95/month (one-year plan) and $4.95/month (two-year plan). The product was tested in a six-month private beta with roughly 100,000 members; the company reports 86% of users showed increased happiness scores after eight weeks, average session time of about 20 minutes, and members returning 2–3 times per week. Founded in December 2011, the New York–based startup has a team of nine and says it is seeing initial growth in paying subscribers after launching subscriptions three months ago. Happify plans to focus on its forthcoming iPhone app and broader public rollout to drive acquisition and engagement.
