Harmonic

220 Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA, 94104, United States

Overview

Harmonic collects structured and unstructured information from across the web, merges those signals and surfaces a continuously updated, canonical profile for millions of startups. Users can run highly specific text queries—for example, fintech companies founded by Stanford alumni whose headcount doubled in the last year—making it a more precise alternative to services like Crunchbase or PitchBook. The platform’s core differentiator is the algorithmic intelligence it applies to data freshness and accuracy; its internal score tracks freshness, inventory and taxonomy. Harmonic monetises through licensing and API usage fees. More than 150 customers already rely on the product, including Brex, Vouch, Notion, Carta and venture firms such as a16z, Accel and Floodgate. Looking ahead, the team plans to extend its discovery tools to sales teams and talent marketplaces so that capital, customers and employees can more efficiently find the right startups. The company was founded by Max Ruderman, Bryan Casey and Ajay Sohmshetty, with Ruderman drawing on six years of Google search-engineering experience.
