Overview

Harver offers a pre-employment assessment software platform designed for hiring at scale, automating evaluation and candidate selection. The platform helps manage large applicant volumes, mitigate unconscious bias, and capture data upfront to enable data-driven hiring decisions. Hundreds of companies, including Netflix, Uber, Booking.com and Heineken, use Harver's solution. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Barend Raaff and operates out of Amsterdam, New York and London. Harver announced it would use new funding to further expand operations. No operating metrics were disclosed in the article. Harver provides pre-hiring and talent-matching software that automates the application process and analyzes modules, tests, and assessments to match candidates to jobs. The platform is designed to remove resume and personal identifiers, aiming to eliminate hiring bias by not factoring in age, name, look, gender, or resume. Over the past two years the company has served tech firms and Fortune 500 customers, signing deals with companies such as Zappos, Netflix, Booking.com, Vodafone, OpenTable and Casper. Harver reports having clients across 20 countries and the ability to pre-select job candidates in 42 languages. The company intends to use new funds to expand the team and bring its AI matching technology to companies of all sizes, specifically within the United States. Financially, Harver raised an additional $4.2M in Series A funding, bringing its Series A total to $12.3M and total funding to $15.6M; the round was led by Insight Venture Partners. Harver builds TalentPitch, an AI-powered pre-selection platform that integrates with employers’ existing HR systems and uses predictive analytics to replace résumé screening. The platform runs modules such as knockout questions, company/culture video tours, real-life judgment tests, personality and intelligence testing, language testing, and skills-assessment games. Harver’s algorithms gather data during assessments and calculate a candidate’s propensity for success in a role. The company reports customers including Booking.com, Netflix, Zappos, OpenTable, Casper and Adecco, and says it serves clients across 13 countries and pre-selects candidates in 42 languages. Harver has formally launched in the US. CEO and founder Barend Raaff is quoted arguing that résumés are nearly obsolete for predicting candidate success.
