Harvesting Farmer Network operates an agriculture-technology platform that empowers smallholder farmers through a collective bargaining model. The platform enables farmers to buy high-quality, affordable farm inputs, access financial services such as loans and insurance, and sell crops to national and international customers. These services aim to provide capabilities typically available only to large-scale farms, helping smallholders scale and grow their businesses. As of August 2022, more than 3.7 million farmers across every Indian state are connected with HFN via various digital platforms. The company is led by CEO Ruchit G Garg and is based in Chandigarh, India. Following a US$4M funding round, HFN plans to use the funds to reach over 120 million smallholder farmers and explore rural-market opportunities to connect farmers in all 708 Indian districts.
