Hatch Apps is a Washington, D.C.–based startup that announced a new funding infusion. The company received $300,000 from the Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, adding to its funding total for the year. CEO Param Jaggi said the investment is a "huge step" and expressed enthusiasm about working closely with the fund. The Rise of the Rest Seed Fund was launched earlier this year by D.C.–based Revolution, which was founded by former AOL executives including Steve Case and Ted Leonsis. The fund aims to draw resources to areas outside California, New York and Boston. Jaggi said Hatch intends to work with the fund to continue empowering businesses across the country. Hatch Apps provides an automated platform that builds native iOS, Android and web apps and a management system to modify content and functionality, send push notifications, and make updates. The solution also automates backend processes for customers, including server storage, data management, debugging, updates and analytics. The company was founded in 2015 and is based in Washington, DC, and is a Y Combinator Fellowship company. Hatch Apps has a team of 23 people. It raised $1.3M in angel funding and plans to use the capital to scale its engineering and infrastructure teams and to launch growth initiatives.
