Haystack is a startup that reimagines corporate intranets as a sleek, nimble product designed to be fast, highly connected, and delightful for employees. The idea originated when founder Cameron Lindsay noticed in 2018 that nearly all Fortune 500 companies had intranets and that most users disliked them. Lindsay teamed up with cofounder Haibo Zhao, a former tech lead at Google and Snap, to build the product. The company positioned itself against older incumbents by taking an innovative approach to design and engineering. Haystack announced its official launch in March and did so with $8.2 million in venture backing. The Entrepreneur feature frames the company as having built a million-dollar business from that initial insight.
