Overview

Health Recovery Solutions (HRS) offers disease-specific telehealth and remote patient monitoring platforms that include educational videos, care plans, medication reminders and integrations with Bluetooth clinical devices. The company supplies solutions to healthcare providers and payers to improve patient engagement, reduce hospital readmissions and improve clinical outcomes. HRS currently partners with over 220 medical centers across 50 states and services nearly 235,000 patients across 90 disease conditions. The firm has been ranked #1 by KLAS for Remote Patient Monitoring in 2020 and 2021. Proceeds from the Series C will fund investments in infrastructure, product development, sales and marketing, and provide liquidity for earlier investors. HRS emphasizes clinical enablement and product innovation as part of its growth strategy. Health Recovery Solutions provides a remote monitoring platform and technology-enabled management services that connect post-acute patients with clinicians and family caregivers to change patient behavior, reduce readmissions, and improve clinical outcomes. The platform supports daily performance tracking, video visits, dietary guidance, medication reminders and clinician intervention, and is customizable with more than 40 treatment plans for conditions including diabetes, COPD, congestive heart failure, and chronic kidney disease. Disease-specific engagement kits combine educational video, care plans, medication reminders and integration with Bluetooth peripherals. Led by CEO and cofounder Jarrett Bauer, the company serves more than 140 customers across the healthcare provider network, including Banner Health System, Penn Medicine at Home, WellCare Health, Northwell Health and MedStar Health. The company raised $10M in growth funding to accelerate go-to-market capabilities and expand its technology platform within the $12 billion telemedicine market. Gregg Michaelson of Edison Partners will join the HRS board of directors as part of the financing. Health Recovery Solutions offers a hospital-facing platform that monitors discharged congestive heart failure (CHF) patients and surfaces early warning signs to reduce readmissions. The program ships patients a tablet pre-loaded with instructions and guided tasks, collects patient-reported data (medication adherence, daily weight, activity), and sends that data to the cloud for predictive analytics and potential care-team deployment. The platform can integrate with electronic medical records and includes health-literacy content such as video to improve adherence. A randomized study of 50 patients (average age 71) with Hackensack University Medical Center and Holy Name Hospital found an 8% 30-day readmission rate for users versus 28% for controls; average medication adherence was 84.38% and weight-recording adherence was 89.82%. The company lists clients including Hackensack University Medical Center, Mass General Hospital, and the University of Pennsylvania Health System, and recently marked its 12th hospital system customer. Health Recovery Solutions graduated from Blueprint Health’s 2012 accelerator and has raised capital to support its platform, including a recent $1M round and more than $1.5M raised to date per SEC filings.
