Heartbeat Revivel
Rosenstr. 2, Berlin, 10829, Germany
Overview
Heartbeat Revivel was founded by Nicole Oudes, a rescue paramedic and first-aid instructor, who developed a small, portable sound device that guides users through resuscitation for babies, children and adults. At the time of the TV appearance she had been producing devices herself in a home workshop, handling 3D-printing of housings and programming of the circuit boards. Through her online shop she sold 52 devices in four weeks, primarily to contacts from her first-aid courses. The device checks breathing, can place an emergency call, and features an integrated metronome to indicate the correct chest-compression rhythm. Oudes pitched a vision of making the device widely available in private households and emphasized a mission-driven focus rather than personal profit. After the deal with Ralf Dümmel, the single-device price on the online store was reduced from €49.98 to €19.99.
