OmniSci builds an extreme analytics platform that harnesses massive GPU parallelism to deliver high-performance analysis of very large datasets. The platform is offered in cloud, open-source, and enterprise editions. More than 100 organizations use its software globally, including Global 2000 firms across telecommunications, automotive, oil and gas, financial services, high technology, and advertising; the company also works with U.S. defense and intelligence communities. MapD has broadened availability via GPU cloud instances on AWS, Google, IBM SoftLayer and Microsoft Azure, easing deployment for enterprise users. The company plans to accelerate product development and increase customer adoption using new funding. Financially, MapD closed a $25 million Series B to support growth and technology advancement. Map-D is a vertically-integrated end-to-end solution for data querying, visualization, and analysis. It leverages next-generation parallel hardware—primarily graphics processing units (GPUs) and Intel Many-Core processors such as the Phi card—to power its data processing and visualization engine. The platform combines the data processing and querying features of a traditional RDBMS with advanced analytic and visualization capabilities.
