Hectar Global is a B2B cross-border agri commodity procurement platform that enables wholesalers, manufacturers, and retailers to source agri-commodities online. Founded by National University of Singapore alumni Srinath Srinivasan, Sibhi Kumaran, and Aswath Balaji, the company operates offices in Chennai, Singapore, Dubai, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. It says it has shipped over 50,000 tonnes of agri-commodities to markets across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. CEO Srinath Srinivasan stated that internal accruals have covered the company’s operating expenses to date. The company raised $2.1 million in seed funding and plans to use the capital to expand into new geographies and strengthen its digital infrastructure.
