The solution is available in 11 countries and is focused on helping people with insulin-dependent diabetes gain better control of their condition. The company emphasizes AI-enabled algorithms and Software-as-a-Medical-Device (SaMD) capabilities to personalize diabetes management. Hedia plans to continue scaling HDA and expand its digital health product roadmap, including a forthcoming Glooko-integrated holistic diabetes management solution. It intends to leverage its competencies together with strategic partners within chronic metabolic diseases. The company is led by newly announced CEO Lars Lund. Hedia, founded in 2016 by Peter Lucas, Christina Kildentoft and Andreas Jespensgaard, has developed a CE‑marked medical software app that provides personalized insulin‑dose recommendations based on meals, activity and current blood glucose. The app is a regulated medical device aimed at stabilising blood glucose for users with insulin‑requiring diabetes. The company is backed by Novo‑heirs. The fresh €3 million raise will fund expansion into the UK and Germany and support clinical studies critical for reimbursement and wider international rollout. One upcoming study will test an algorithm that predicts blood glucose 30 minutes ahead to improve dosing accuracy. Because Hedia sells a medical device, clinical evidence is central to selling to national health services and insurers.
