Overview
Helios develops a cloud platform that integrates optical, SAR and hyperspectral satellite imagery with drone, GIS and meteorological data, enabling users to run sophisticated analyses through a conversational interface powered by large language models. Dubbed the Large Earth Model (LEM), the system aims to serve as a foundational “planetary intelligence infrastructure” that helps governments and enterprises understand Earth-scale changes, predict future scenarios and take proactive actions. The company has completed its MVP and is now working on alpha and beta releases with external partners. Early commercial contracts in disaster management, environmental monitoring and forestry (e.g., invasive-species surveys in Okinawa) have already generated revenue. Helios has also signed an MoU with leading infrastructure consultancy Chodai to collaborate on asset-management projects in Asia. Founded on 30 August 2024 in Tokyo, the startup ultimately envisions scaling into a ¥200 billion business by expanding across urban planning, disaster mitigation, environmental assessment and defense markets.
