Helios Wire develops a satellite-based IoT and machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity system using priority mobile satellite system (MSS) S-band spectrum to deliver two-way, ultra-low-cost short-burst data services. The company targets both existing and emerging IoT and M2M applications across transportation, consumer, logistics, security/public safety, energy, industrial/construction, agriculture, animal management and other industries. Helios Wire is building a global satellite-enabled system intended to cover connected assets and enable monitoring and control of fixed and mobile assets. The company is led by CEO and co-founder Scott Larson. It plans to launch its first satellite at Christmas, with two additional satellites scheduled during the second half of 2018. The recent financing will be used to advance development and support the planned satellite launches.
