In its latest round the company raised $40 million and is valued between $250 million and $300 million, according to reports. Hello builds Sense, a sleep-tracking product that measures room heat, humidity, noise, and ambient light alongside nocturnal motion to assess sleep. The hardware includes a spherical environmental sensor and a clip-on "sleep pill" that attaches to a pillow, and the system is augmented by a mobile app that aggregates data and offers suggestions. After several months in pre-order, the company has started shipping its devices to customers. Hello raised nearly $2.5 million via its Kickstarter campaign and previously raised $10.5 million from angel investors to fund development and production. The company positions Sense to give actionable context beyond standard activity trackers by recommending environmental changes to improve sleep.
