Helpcheck is a justice-as-a-service legal tech platform founded in 2016 by Peer Schulz and Phil Sokowicz that helps consumers pursue claims—especially in the life insurance sector—who might otherwise be deterred by legal fees. The platform runs a free calculation of each claim using an extensive algorithm and, where appropriate, brings claims to court on behalf of users. Helpcheck currently operates only in Germany and its team consists of 15 employees. The startup has positioned itself to give consumers easier access to justice using digital tools and automated assessment. The company recently raised new capital to support growth and broaden the areas of law it serves.
