Hence Technologies builds a precision-matching engine that uses data and AI to connect companies' internal legal teams with external legal service providers. The platform ingests data from various sources, including clients' billing systems and qualitative inputs, to recommend lawyers by assignment type, location and cost. The product was validated through pilots with a U.S.-based investing firm and a London insurance company. Founded in 2020, Hence's team mainly operates from Kigali, Rwanda, while the company is also London-based. Hence plans to target larger corporations with bigger legal expenditure budgets and to use funding to grow technical talent and increase marketing. The company is part of the first cohort of Palantir's Foundry for Builders to work with sensitive data in an accredited environment.
