Hepagene Therapeutics Inc. is a clinical-stage drug discovery and development firm focused on therapies for liver diseases. Since its inception in 2016 the company has focused on indications including non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, chronic hepatitis B infection and cancer. The company said it will use the proceeds to support the clinical research of its pipeline candidates. It recently completed a $40 million Series B1 round. Investors in that round include Loyal Valley Capital, Oceanpine Capital and existing investor Apricot Capital. Loyal Valley Capital is described in the announcement as a ByteDance backer.
