Overview
Herald provides a unified API that digitally connects commercial insurance brokers with carriers and integrates into AMS, CRM, or custom front-end systems to enable brokers to quote and bind in real time. The platform supports 80+ insurance products from 35+ carrier partners across lines such as Cyber, Management Liability, Professional Liability, BOP, General Liability, and Workers' Compensation. Herald works with eight of the top-25 largest brokerages and collaborates with services and technology partners to build brokerage-facing offerings. Its AI-powered capabilities extract, transform, and load data from formats like PDFs and spreadsheets into a unified transaction standard, reducing redundant data entry and improving underwriting precision. Herald is building an open data standard to improve interoperability across the insurance ecosystem. The company announced a $12 million Series A to accelerate product development and expand AI features. Herald provides a single API that lets software developers obtain quotes from multiple commercial insurance carriers and lines of business. Developers use Herald to access carriers' automatic quoting algorithms across Workers’ Compensation, Business Owners Policy (BOP), and General Liability. The company has partnered with national and regional carriers and insurtechs including Markel, CNA, At-Bay, Cowbell, Corvus, Atlantic Casualty, Century Surety, Coterie, and AmTrust. Herald's product replaces manual application-email workflows with integrations to carriers, removing the need for companies to build and maintain multiple carrier connections. The company cites customer wins such as BindHQ, which used Herald’s API to save brokers over 30 minutes of manual effort per applicant and to cut integration work that formerly took months down to hours. Herald says it will use new funding to expand product and engineering teams, scale support for additional lines of business, and accelerate integrations with carrier partners.
