HeyStaks Technologies is a Dublin, Ireland–based social web-search startup spun out in 2007 from the Clarity Centre for Sensor Web Technologies at University College Dublin. The company has developed a patent-protected desktop and mobile solution that lets users leverage their social graphs when searching and create "search staks"—folders of relevant searches that can be shared via email, Facebook and Twitter. HeyStaks is currently in closed beta and is based in the NovaUCD centre. The new funding will support product development, expansion of operations, and the opening of an office in San Francisco. At the time of the article the company employed 4 people and planned to grow to 14 staff by the end of year one and to over 40 by the end of 2013. Hiring efforts are focused on engineers and designers.
