Hibernia Atlantic operates a submarine cable and terrestrial fiber network offering over 92 redundant Points of Presence across Canada, the US, the UK and mainland Europe on more than 24,000 kilometers of network. The company provides high-bandwidth connectivity and managed transport services for customers requiring transatlantic capacity. The investment announced gives the company capital to increase its network Points of Presence in North America and Europe. Hibernia recently acquired MediaXstream, a provider of transport and managed network services for the media production and broadcast industries. Remaining shares in Hibernia are held by Columbia Ventures Corporation (CVC). The company is based in Summit, N.J., and Dublin, EIRE.
