High Brew Coffee

2810 S 1st St, Austin, Texas, 78704, United States

Overview

High Brew Coffee produces slim, on-the-go canned RTD cold brew positioned for outdoor adventurers, festivalgoers and everyday consumers as a functional energy product. The brand emphasizes portability and targets music-festival audiences, office samplings, and college students (including case purchases via Amazon). High Brew sold more than 24 million cans in 2017 and is growing sales volumes by 55% nationally in grocery, mass, and drug retail outlets, recently surpassing the market-leading brand in cold brew sales over an eight-week period. The company is investing in digital advertising and its Amazon partnership to expand reach. It will sell products at major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and BottleRock, and plans to release a High Brew sparkling coffee range this summer after debuting an early version at Natural Products Expo West. Leadership frames the brand around the “doer” lifestyle and plans additional strategic partners and activations to support growth. High Brew produces canned ready-to-drink cold-brew coffee sold nationally. Its cans are carried at retailers including Target, Whole Foods, Kroger, Safeway and Sprouts. CEO David Smith says High Brew is the number-one selling cold-brew in convenience stores, citing Nielsen data from February 11, 2017. The company plans to use new capital to reach more markets and expand in the convenience (c-store) channel. High Brew emphasizes packaging — the can is positioned for an active on-the-go lifestyle and to break through cooler clutter. The brand operates within a fast-growing RTD coffee category that doubled year-over-year in 2015 and is projected to reach $18bn by 2020. High Brew Coffee produces ready-to-drink cold-brew coffee made from 100% Fair Trade Arabica beans, triple-filtered and brewed without heat to deliver twice the caffeine and less acidity. Its palm-sized canned coffees come in flavors such as Double Espresso, Mexican Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Dark Chocolate Mocha and Black & Bold, contain 20–60 calories per can, retail for $2.49–$2.99, and are available in 11,000 stores nationwide. The company recently introduced a new latté line at Natural Products Expo West and expects it to be available this summer. High Brew has expanded its executive leadership team with new hires in sales, operations, and marketing. It announced a distribution partnership with Dr Pepper Snapple Group to expand distribution in strategic markets including New York City, Chicago, Dallas, Austin, and Houston. Founded in 2014 and based in Austin, Texas, the company positions itself as a premium, on-the-go cold brew option.
