Overview

Hightower is a NYC-based leasing management platform that provides web-based software for commercial brokers and owners to manage their end-to-end leasing process. The platform helps reach prospects, convert prospects to tenants, and manage overall portfolio performance. Founded in 2013 and led by CEO Brandon Weber, Hightower launched its cloud-based product last year and now serves thousands of brokers and owners in every major U.S. market. The company intends to use the new funds to scale its team, accelerate product development and establish an international presence. The amount of the strategic investment was not disclosed. Investors and backers include Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Corp, Barry Sternlicht of Starwood Capital, Bill Rudin of Rudin Management Company, returning investor Aaron Levie of Box, and existing backers such as RRE Ventures, Thrive Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Pritzker Group Venture Capital and David Tisch (Boxgroup). Hightower provides a leasing management platform that helps commercial brokers and owners manage the leasing process end-to-end. Brokers can get automated leasing activity reports and access marketing materials and proposal history, while owners can centralize deal management, asset intelligence and analytics. The service is being used to manage hundreds of millions of square feet and is seeing roughly 20% month-over-month growth. The company plans to use new funding to scale its team, accelerate product development and expand internationally. Hightower has positioned itself as one of the better-funded startups in commercial real estate, competing alongside newer entrants aiming to disrupt the sector. Hightower offers a platform aimed at owners and brokers to manage nearly all aspects of commercial leasing, including deal pipelines, tenant relations, and marketing efforts. The company provides phone and tablet apps for brokers to track prospects and negotiations while emphasizing simplicity and mobility. Hightower also supplies analytics and document management capabilities to its users. It is currently working with about 40 commercial landlords and institutional investors across 36 markets who manage hundreds of millions of square feet across roughly 360 commercial properties on the platform. The company is based in New York and has 17 employees. Hightower plans to use new funding to continue product development and to expand into Canada and Europe. Hightower provides a mobile and web leasing platform that enables institutional landlords and their leasing brokers to track and collaborate on commercial real estate deals in real time from the web and any mobile device. The cloud-based platform aggregates leasing data across property portfolios of various sizes and converts it to actionable analysis that landlords can use to make data-driven leasing decisions. The company was created by CEO Brandon Weber, Chief Technology Officer Niall Smart and design head Donald DeSantis. Hightower is based in New York City. On December 20, 2013, Hightower secured $2.12M in seed funding. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Thrive Capital with participation from RRE Ventures, Red Swan and several angel investors; a BVP partner joined the company's board.
