Hindsite
15 West Street, Brighton, BN1 2RL
Overview
Founded in 2017 by Doug Hastings, Hindsite provides a smart, wearable and multi-device micro-training platform that records users' perspectives via photos and videos to create micro-learnings and enable remote mentoring. The software runs on industry-specific wearables such as RealWear and Google Glass and also supports smartphones, tablets and laptops, transcribing and translating content into more than 70 languages. Its features include geo-location, narration and remote mentoring video calls to retain and distribute subject-matter expertise before experts retire. Hindsite targets industries including mining, healthcare, manufacturing, construction, utilities and field services, and cites more than 500 million potential users across those sectors. The company recently raised a $3.25 million seed round at an $18 million valuation and plans to use the funds for strategic hires, international customer growth and R&D. As part of the seed raise Hindsite hired ex-Microsoft Teams leader Dominic Williamson as technical co-founder and CTO; Liam Scanlan joined as co-founder and COO in 2020.
