Hive is a Geneva-based distributed cloud provider that aggregates latent computing resources via products such as hiveNet, hiveDisk, and hiveCompute. The platform lets users store files on hiveDisk, contribute unused hard drive capacity to hiveNet to lower subscription costs, and provides additional CPU, GPU, or NPU capacity for workloads such as GenAI inference, video processing, and 3D modelling. Hive’s Joint Development Partner (JDP) program develops cloud innovations for businesses leveraging GenAI LLM computations. Founded by David Gurlé, the company has amassed over 25,000 active users and contributors from 147 countries since October 2023. Hive raised €12M in a Series A round led by SC Ventures with participation from OneRagtime and other private investors. The company intends to use the funds to grow its team and global presence, with a focus on expanding into enterprise markets starting with startups and SMBs.
