Holotech Studios develops FaceRig, a digital animation software suite that creates personalized real-time 3D avatars. The product is used for learning tools and communications. The company says its software has been downloaded four million times on mobile and desktop. Holotech raised $2 million in a Series A led by SignalFire. Earlier, it funded development via a 2014 Indiegogo campaign that raised $300,000. The new funds will be used to expand the FaceRig product and to grow internationally; the company also has a presence in San Francisco and plans to expand its US business, according to cofounder Dragos Stanculescu.
