Overview
HDS is developing RoboFS, a massive automated system of robots and software to power end-to-end fulfillment for online groceries and general merchandise. The company has spent several years building automation aimed at reducing labor costs and solving robotic picking, and plans warehouses of roughly 150,000 square feet serving millions of SKUs for one-hour deliveries. HDS is opening an AI-based robotic demonstration center outside Indianapolis to showcase the technology and attract partners and investors. Founder Louis Borders says the automation could cut labor costs by about two-thirds, shifting people toward delivery and customer-facing roles. The startup has strategic partners including Ingram Micro and Toyota and has previously raised $38 million to date. HDS will unveil a different commercial name when it launches and is preparing a much larger financing round likely to close within the next 15 months.
