Homee combines a conversational bot and human designers to guide users through interior design, letting customers buy entire room designs or individual furniture pieces. Users start with a bot-driven survey and a human designer then completes the consultation and iterations. Homee monetizes by earning when users buy furniture, and the team reports a very high conversion rate. The company launched version 1.0 on November 19, 2015, and says revenue grew more than 700% in the prior 10 weeks. Homee has about 30 employees, roughly half of whom work as designers; designers manage 5–10 designs concurrently today with backend improvements aimed at scaling to 50–100. Future plans include expanding beyond design into implementation and same-day delivery.
