Overview
Homestay.com is a Dublin, Ireland-based provider of an online booking platform that matches guests with hosts renting rooms on a nightly, weekly or monthly basis. The platform also offers tools for managing and creating one-off host networks and is co-founded by Tom Kennedy and Debbie Flynn, with Paddy Holahan as chairman and Alan Clarke as CEO. The company secured US$3m in funding led by Delta Partners with participation from Enterprise Ireland. It acquired Berlin-based HomestayBooking (launched in 2007 by Olaf Börner); acquisition terms were not disclosed. The acquisition brings Homestay.com's total worldwide host listings to more than 25,000, while HomestayBooking had listings in over 30 countries, 70,000 guest accounts and support for five languages. The funding and acquisition are intended to accelerate Homestay.com's global expansion and create a single destination for guests and hosts. Planned product developments include additional language support, new applications, mobile device integration and other services to help hosts better reach travelers.
