Hona builds a GenAI product that integrates into multiple electronic records systems and summarizes a patient’s medical records to help doctors prep for visits. The product is highly customizable so summaries can be tailored to a specialist’s needs (for example, cardiologists versus nephrologists) and can extract precise clinical details. The founding team—Danielle Yoesep, Adam Steinle and Shuying Zhang—combines backgrounds in biotech, biomedical engineering, finance and AI. Hona tested its product with doctors at Duke and Harvard and is preparing a white paper on kidney stone referrals due to publish soon. The company was accepted into Y Combinator’s Winter 2024 batch (after a prior Summer 2023 rejection) and graduated from YC. Financially, Hona has raised a $3 million seed round and attracted angels from the tech and biotech worlds.
