Hookdeck

465 Rue McGill, Suite 700, Montréal, Québec, H2Y 2H1, Canada

Overview

Hookdeck provides webhook infrastructure to make it easier for developers to develop, monitor and test webhooks from a single platform. The product emphasizes visibility into webhook traffic, failure reasons, and tooling to troubleshoot integrations. The startup offers a free tier now supporting 100,000 events (up from 10,000) and has increased data retention from one day to three days to improve developer testing. Founders Alexandre Bouchard and Eric Tran began working on the product in 2020 and returned to build after early users discovered the solution during a founders' hiatus. Hookdeck currently has seven employees and plans to use the new funding to expand the team while making hiring efforts to improve diversity. The company announced a $2.4 million seed to keep its early momentum going. Hookdeck offers a webhook solution that provides a message queue to ingest webhook requests from SaaS applications and reliably distribute them to callback endpoints. The product focuses on helping developers monitor and manage inbound webhooks and recover from delivery errors. The startup began as a basement project in January 2020, the founders went full-time in September 2020, and Hookdeck was incorporated in January 2021. Hookdeck gained early traction and visibility, ranking as the No. 3 Product Hunt listing on Sept. 23. Financially, the company completed a pre-seed fundraise to support product development. The new capital is earmarked to accelerate system development and double down on product reliability by building new monitoring and recovery features.
