Hoovu Fresh is a fresh puja flower startup that shortens the supply chain and uses processing and packaging technology to deliver high-quality flowers for puja and festival use. Founded by sisters Yeshoda and Rhea Karuturi in February 2019, the company operates in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Hoovu sells curated packages for festivals and puja staples, with an assorted flowers-plus-greens package that includes auspicious greens like gharke, bil patre and tulsi. Their developed processing and packaging technology reportedly keeps flowers fresh for up to 15 days versus an industry average of 2–3 days. Hoovu says this model creates value both for farmers and end customers by repurposing wastage and shortening the supply chain. Financially, Hoovu raised INR 6.45 crore in a pre-Series A led by Sauce.VC, supporting its mission to make fresh flowers available daily at affordable prices and to scale operations.
