Hot Hotels is a Madrid-based last-minute hotel booking app, founded in January 2012, that publishes a curated selection of daily deals to help fill partner hotels’ inventory. The company operates a hybrid supply model combining direct hotel relationships with third-party contracting, which it says scales better and increases available inventory. Its mobile apps cover 43 countries and 257 cities across Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Israel. Management is developing a platform play to enable other travel apps to access last-minute hotel inventory, expanding beyond a pure consumer app. The company says the new funding will support expansion into Latin America and further consolidate its position in Europe. CEO Conor O’Connor framed the Axon investment as accelerating rollout and differentiating the business from competitors like HotelTonight and Groupon-owned Blink.
