Overview
HQS builds quantum simulation software that predicts material properties to accelerate development cycles in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The company develops algorithms designed to tolerate errors on current noisy quantum processors, enabling customers to benefit from quantum performance earlier. It also offers custom simulation solutions for conventional computers that integrate high-end simulation methods and are designed to leverage future quantum hardware. HQS was founded by four researchers who worked together at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and began with angel support from Friedrich Hoepfner and Manfred Ziegler. The company has established cooperations with BASF, Bosch and Merck to align product development with industrial needs. HQS plans a significant team expansion in the coming quarters and aims to use the €2.3 million seed financing to accelerate product and commercial development.
