HUB2
Port Louis, Mauritius
Overview
HUB2 is a payments aggregator that offers a single API enabling fintechs and payment companies to collect mobile money, bank transfers, cards and cryptocurrency across Francophone Africa. Founded in 2019 by Ashley Gauzere, the company partners with mobile money providers including Wave, Orange, MTN, Moov, Free and T‑Money to knit together fragmented payment systems. HUB2 operates as the backbone for some 55 fintechs (including Julaya, Onafriq, NALA, and CinetPay) which now account for 98% of its volumes. The five-year-old fintech has a 35-person team across offices in France, Ivory Coast and Mauritius and is on track to process €1 billion in TPV this year, up from €70 million in 2022, with consistent 15% month-over-month growth in TPV and revenue. Revenue is generated via take rates on transaction volumes. HUB2 plans to roll out cross-border payments, introduce stablecoin-based remittances, deepen card payment integrations with CyberSource/Visa, and target full regional coverage within two years while potentially expanding to serve SMEs later.
