Overview
Hubilo builds a platform for virtual, hybrid and in-person events with a strong emphasis on engagement tools, gamification and analytics. Its product includes more than 50 engagement features, certifications for session access, exhibitor mini-CRMs and integrations with Marketo, Salesforce and HubSpot. The company has been adapting its earlier in-person event tech into a cloud-based video and hybrid offering to serve both virtual attendees and on-site audiences. Hubilo serves more than 800 customers, including Walmart, Blackboard, the United Nations, Roche Pharma, AB InBev, Verizon, Facebook and TikTok. The company is expanding hybrid capabilities to combine on-stage and virtual tracks and to provide separate communication channels for in-person and remote participants. Hubilo plans to use new funding to continue expanding the platform and grow the business. Hubilo is a global virtual and hybrid events platform that enables businesses to host online and hybrid events. Its platform includes networking features such as meeting tables, private rooms, meeting schedules, gamification like leaderboards, and one-click integrations with HubSpot, SalesForce and Marketo. Led by founders Vaibhav Jain and Mayank Agarwal, Hubilo has hosted more than a million attendees on its platform. The company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in London and Bengaluru and serves customers across the United States, Europe, APAC, Middle East and Africa. Customers include the United Nations, Roche, Informa Markets, Tech in Asia, Fortune, AWS, Siemens, Cognizant, Veritas Technologies and GITEX. Hubilo plans to use the Series A proceeds to expand sales teams globally, with new offices in San Francisco and London and to build out sales, marketing and customer success teams out of those offices. It also intends to accelerate platform development with a focus on enabling authentic customer connections and developing features to boost attendee engagement and monetization opportunities for organizers. Hubilo pivoted from an event analytics startup to a virtual events platform earlier this year in response to COVID-19. The product offers rebrandable virtual spaces, sponsorship features such as contests, event feeds and virtual lounges, and analytics integrations with Salesforce, Marketo and HubSpot. It gamifies attendee engagement with features like its Leaderboard, which the company says is its most used feature. Hubilo has served clients including the United Nations, Roche, Fortune, GITEX, IPI Singapore, Tech In Asia, Infocomm Asia and Clarion Events. Headquartered in San Francisco, about 12% of its sales currently come from Southeast Asia and it plans to scale further in that region as well as in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Financially, Hubilo said revenue dropped to zero in February, it had roughly 30 employees and only three months of reserves before building an MVP virtual event product in under a month; it now expects to exceed a $10M bookings run rate and host more than one million attendees in the coming months. Hubilo offers a user-friendly interface that enables event organisers to create, promote, sell tickets for, manage, and analyze a range of events. Founded in 2015 and incubated at iCreate, the company previously received a seed fund of Rs 15 lakh and a Rs 8.9 lakh scale-up grant from the government of Gujarat. The startup recently raised additional funding from Freshdesk founder Girish Mathrubootham and other investors. Investor V C Karthik of Buzzworks cited the company's growth momentum, product, traction, and team as the reasons for investing. Hubilo positions itself in a large, fast-growing Asian event-tech market estimated at $60 billion and growing at 38% since 2006.
