Overview
Founded in April 2022 by a team of Tsinghua University alumni with deep automotive-grade chip and robotics experience, Huixi Intelligence focuses exclusively on embodied-intelligence computing power for robots and advanced driver-assistance and self-driving vehicles. Its flagship product is the 7 nm automotive-grade chip, Guangzhi R1, which completed tape-out in September 2024, was lit up and officially launched in October 2024, and is slated for mass production and delivery in 2025. The company differentiates itself from general-purpose AI chipmakers by building a dedicated architecture, chip design and software toolchain optimized for real-time, low-power, safety-critical edge scenarios. Although Huixi has achieved the technical milestone of producing an automotive-grade 7 nm chip in under four years, it remains pre-revenue and unprofitable, relying on successive venture financings to fund its heavy R&D and certification costs. The founders—Dr. Xu Ningyi, Dr. Zhang Jianyong and Prof. He Guanghui—bring more than a decade of automotive chip mass-production experience, with prior cumulative shipments exceeding one billion units. Future plans include scaling production of Guangzhi R1, upgrading platform iterations, and extending the architecture to additional embodied-intelligence applications such as drones and industrial robots. Continuous capital infusion is viewed as essential to bridge the long certification cycles and manufacturing scale-up required for automotive deployments.
