Hummink

5 rue Charlot, Paris, Ile-de-France, 75003, France

Overview

Founded in 2020 as a spin-off from École Normale Supérieure – PSL and the CNRS, Paris-based Hummink has created High-Precision Capillary Printing (HPCaP) technology that deposits metals and functional materials with nanometre accuracy, operating like a miniature fountain pen. The system is intended to complement traditional lithography by detecting and repairing microscopic defects in real time, reducing yield loss and material waste in markets such as semiconductor packaging, next-generation memory, and OLED displays. Its first commercial product, the NAZCA demonstrator, is already generating revenue and is installed in research labs across Europe, Asia, and the United States, including Duke University. Hummink claims its solution can recover a portion of the estimated €16 billion in annual losses from OLED display scrap, where up to 30 % of panels are discarded due to micro-defects. The company also supplies custom conductive inks tailored to its tools, further diversifying its income. Proceeds from the latest funding will be used to develop an industrial printing module and prepare integration into full-scale semiconductor and display fabrication lines.
